Situated in the heart of Houston’s Museum District, the MFAH features a permanent collection of more than 65,000 pieces of work. Founded in 1900, the MFAH’s campus consists of two gallery buildings, library, movie theater, sculpture garden, art schools, museums, and a visitor’s center. The 2015 weekend also coincided with the opening of the “Contingent Beauty: Contemporary Art in Latin America” exhibit housed in the permanent Latin American art collection. All proceeds raised from the weekend benefited the Latin American art acquisitions program at the MFAH.
